Beef Gyudon is simple to make but wow does it eat well!


Beef skirt/flank – cut into strips

Shredded onions

Diced peppers

Grated ginger

Spring onions

Toasted sesame seeds 

Pickled ginger

200ml dashi

400ml sweet soy sauce 

Sushi rice


Put rice onto cook in rice cooker or in a pan.

Shred onions and fry in oil, add ginger and peppers, then add then beef and cook until coloured. Once coloured add the dashi and the sweet soy sauce and cook until it goes into a syrup. 

Toast sesame seeds in a dry pan.

Add rice to the bowls, top with the beef mix then sprinkle with the toasted sesame seeds, pickled ginger and edamame beans.
